Welcome to GenBeans

This is the home of GenBeans, a highy interactive molecular biology software to analyze sequences.

A new way of handling sequences.

If you do not like any molecular biology software out there, GenBeans is probably what you are looking for! Ever wondered why it takes so long to design your clones? What is the exact sequence of your construct? GenBeans is the ultimate solution to bring to life the multiple sequence files spread on your computer.

An integrated bioinformatics environment.

GenBeans is a standalone, rich client platform for bioinformatics. GenBeans offers an Integrated Bioinformatics Environment written in java that works on Windows, Linux, and Mac. GenBeans is currently focused on molecular biology and gives a seamless work experience to research scientists with a fully-integrated toolbox in a rich, user-friendly, graphical interface.

Applications.

Sequence Management: Sequence files are recognized on your hard drive and presented in a distinctive way in the Explorer; subsequences in multi-sequences files can be accessed directly without opening the files. Operations on sequences are easily made thought a context-sensitive menu accessed by simple right-clicks.

Sequence editing: Text editors are available for the most important sequence formats. These are 'smart' editors with specific color schemes to highlight sequence features.

Restriction Analysis: GenBeans includes a powerful restriction analysis toolbox. For example, finding exclusive and unique restriction sites between two sequences is just a mouse click away.

Primer Design: GeanBeans offers rapid analyses of short nucleotidc sequences for primer design that include a new algorithm to detect possible harming secondary structures. Did you see this self-dimer?

More to come: Genbeans is evolving rapidly and new features will become available shortly.
